What this project was
Annual recap videos can feel disposable if you let them. A company collects the highlights, strings together a timeline, puts music under it, and calls it done. This one had the chance to be more deliberate than that.
What the company needed
It was the first time Circle's year-in-review format moved into a more polished, founder-led setup. That changed the tone right away. Instead of feeling like a fast internal summary, it had room to feel more considered. More like a company taking stock of itself in public.
What I owned
- Defined the strategic narrative and script direction
- Led production planning and creative execution
- Owned editorial shaping to ship a clear final story
What mattered in the work
That was the opportunity. The page should not oversell the piece as some massive reinvention. What mattered was the shift in posture. A stronger visual setting. A clearer executive voice. A little more confidence in letting the company speak with intent about where it had been and where it was heading.
Outcome and proof
- Delivered a stronger project narrative asset for portfolio and recruiting review.
- Improved clarity around role, strategy, and execution outcomes for this work.
What this project proves
That is what I think this project captures well. It is calm work. Mature work. The kind of film a company makes when it is trying to sound more like itself and less like marketing.
