Dear readers,
Smaller is Better.
The world of social media is shrinking, and thank God. We are all shifting to podcasts, newsletters, DMs, and private Slack (or Facebook) channels.
90% of my marketing strategy has been focused on these private, personal interactions. They are more powerful and lead to more context.
What do you mean more context?
I no longer comment on people's Instagram. Overused marketing tips will tell us to leave a thoughtful comment.
“The algorithm reads that as REAL engagement.” - Anonymous Marketing Rumor-Spreader
Well, what if my comment is really (like REALLY) thoughtful?
The hope is that it will lead to a more in-depth conversation - however, when it's public-facing we all put on our “personal brand” mask.
“Oh, wow. Thank you so much for the kinds words, Jordan. Have a great day!”
Instead...
I like to leave a comment as a DM.
I can ask the deep questions, and they can give a thoughtful, heartfelt answer that is loaded with context.
A lengthy example, but here's the takeaway...
Get your followers in the door and start building an inner circle.
Private conversations are more powerful and contextual
Podcasts, newsletters and private Slack channels focus on the one-to-one interaction
How many one-on-one conversations can you have in a day?
And how can you scale it?
P.S., Thank you so much for reading and being a part of this inner circle.
Cheers,
Jordan P. Anderson
