Howdy folks! 👋
Yes - if it's not too much trouble.
The Problem: You haven't settled on a particular niche. Your clients are wide-ranging and your portfolio doesn't entirely speak to them.
Maybe you're moving into a new genre, maybe you have some legacy branding from your wedding portfolio. Either case, the main concern isn't about your portfolio itself, but what it says to your potential clients.
Your Clients are Too Different
A bride browsing through Pinterest or #weddingphotographer has a completely different budget, timeline, expectations, and sales process from any other type of client. Sure there are some parallels, but shoving your portrait clients into your wedding sales process (or vice-versa) is a crude, ineffective path to take.
Church and State
By offering a sister brand website or even a simple landing page - you're making your clients feel like they are truly being catered to. The feeling of "This is for me!" sings throughout your sister brand because every photo, every paragraph and tagline is made for them.
Too Much Trouble
If starting a new company or building/re-building a website sounds too arduous, then carry on.
Sometimes a crude method is better than no method at all.
P.S., Tomorrow starts our journey into building a website! Follow along here.
