If you hired a business partner, how would they negotiate for you?
I'll be Live this Friday at Noon EST to answer your one-page proposal questions.

I love the life of a soloist. Running your own business gives you the freedom to take risks and experiment.
When it comes to closing deals and running the business side of things, many solo creatives would rather pass this off to get back to doing what they love - creating cool shit.
Business development, sales, contracts, and negotiating with clients aren't at the top of creative business owners' mind. Some of it even seems gross.
Pricing out a project and negotiating with a client is especially tough and a lot of us are quick to flinch when it comes to getting their stated price. Sometimes it's a self-confidence issue. They don't believe they deserve that much money. Having a business partner step in for you would be a Godsend. What a relief, I don't have to do this business crap.
Having someone work on our behalf and defend our worth would lead to better deals and better clients.
What if that business partner was you? What if you were able to negotiate deals on behalf of your creative self. You put on your business suit, and tell your creative alter ego, "Don't worry, I got this."
Imagine yourself as a separate business partner and your job is to get the best deal you can for your creative partner. They aren't good at defending themselves or their price, but you are!
Sounds a little crazy to split the image of yourself, but treating your creative self with all the love and respect will go so far to further your business.
Cheers,
Jordan P. Anderson
