How Much Time Should You Be Marketing?
Do you cringe at the thought of marketing your business?
Or perhaps, you see marketing as a distraction from doing "actual" work in your business or time spent working for your clients.
I believe you should be spending half of your time at work on marketing.
If you work 40-60 hours per week on your business, then you should be spending 20-30 hours on marketing.
Crazy as it sounds, it's the art of farming. Farming doesn't happen overnight and the yield is realized months down the road. But it's worth it.
Here's how you spend half your workweek on marketing:
Writing
Thinking
Recording
Posting
Commenting
Answering
Connecting
Networking
Writing, again
Experimenting
Testing
Asking
Automating
Building
Farming
There. That should keep you busy.
How do you block this out into your work schedule?
Divide things into daily and weekly tasks:
What can you do on a daily basis (15-20 minutes per task)?
What can you do on a weekly basis (30 minutes per task)?
Here's a marketing strategy PDF I built last week: https://geni.us/marketingstrategy-pdf
