Nope. They don’t.
Hi everyone! 👋
Photographers do not, and should not need a logo.
Much of the need for a logo stems from a deeper problem that photographers can’t exactly articulate. Sometimes it’s out of insecurity because they haven’t gotten any new leads.
“Maybe it’s my logo?” Nope. It’s a distraction.
Logos work great for consumer packaged goods like candy, soft drinks, and that funky kombucha at Whole Foods - because they are physical and hold some shelf space. They are there to catch your eye and communicate that you are “One of Us.” So buy now!
“…when has someone’s logo been a client deal-breaker?
With your photography brand, there’s no shelf space to monopolize. Sure, it’s nice to have a consistent brand, but when has someone’s logo been a client deal-breaker?
You probably have Photoshop open right now - here’s what you can do:
Type your name,
Arrange it in a way that follows a few design rules, and
Choose a font that aligns with your brand attributes.
That’s it. There. I just saved you $500.
Cheers,
Jordan P. Anderson
